Introduction
Don Bosco Migrant Services (DBMS), in collaboration with Meenakshi Hospital, organized a Free Medical Camp on 26 November 2025 at the URC Construction Site, Panapakkam, Ranipet District. The camp aimed to provide essential medical care and health support to migrant labourers residing and working in the area.
Program Overview
A total of 103 migrant labourers, including 101 men and 2 women, benefited from the camp. The medical team from Meenakshi Hospital deployed specialists from seven different departments, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services for all participants.
In addition to the medical consultations, ABHA Card Registration was facilitated at the venue, enabling 26 migrants to enrol in the national digital health mission and gain access to future health-related benefits.
Support and Coordination
The camp was conducted with the support of URC Construction Site, Panapakkam, which provided the necessary arrangements and mobilized the workers for the health check-up. The DBMS staff played a key role in coordinating the event, guiding participants, assisting the medical team, and ensuring smooth execution throughout the program.
Conclusion
The Free Medical Camp served as a significant health intervention for migrant labourers, offering accessible medical assistance and promoting health awareness at the worksite itself. The initiative strengthened DBMS’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of migrant communities and ensuring that essential healthcare services reach vulnerable groups.
