On 10th April 2025, Don Bosco Migrant Services conducted a dynamic and purpose-driven awareness program at the Puduvoyal PVR Brick Chambers, uniting 65 enthusiastic participants from the local migrant worker community. Themed “Building Better Lives,” the initiative aimed to uplift and empower migrant workers through knowledge-sharing and active engagement.
The session was designed to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by migrant laborers, with a strong focus on education, workplace safety, alcohol avoidance, personal hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and healthcare awareness. Each topic was presented through interactive methods that included open discussions, real-life scenarios, and participatory activities that encouraged workers to reflect on their daily practices and future aspirations.
A key highlight of the program was the active involvement of the participants, who not only listened attentively but also shared their experiences, asked thought-provoking questions, and enthusiastically took part in group activities. This interaction fostered a strong sense of community and mutual learning among the attendees.
The session on “Saying No to Alcohol” received particular appreciation for its candid and relatable approach, shedding light on the social and health consequences of alcohol abuse. Likewise, the segments on personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness emphasized practical, everyday habits that can significantly improve living conditions, both at work and home.

The program concluded with positive feedback from participants, many of whom expressed a renewed sense of motivation to adopt healthier and safer lifestyles.
