Psychological Well-being Workshop for Manipur students in Chennai

On October 10, 2023 Niraivagam in collaboration with Don Bosco Migrant Services of Chennai Province conducted a Psychological Well-being Workshop for 14 Manipur students who have migrated to Chennai due to ethnic violence in their state. These undergraduate students are studying at Stella Maris College, Nungambakkam. Niraivagam along with Don Bosco Migrant Services has undertaken an initiative to take care of the mental well-being of the young people from Manipur who have come to Tamilnadu, by helping them to overcome grief and trauma and to grow up with positivity and resilience. This rejuvenating workshop was initiated with a brief orientation by Fr. Simoli nFerk SDB, the Director of Chennai Don Bosco Migrant Services and guided by Fr. Ravi SDB, Asst. Director of Niraivagam and Mrs. Virgin Vinodini, Counsellor. These  students in their feedback expressed that they were able to understand their psychological well-being state and became aware of the need to avail further psychological help especially a few of them in order to overcome their past traumatic experiences.
