On May 10, 2023, DBMS organized a TNUHDB sponsored labor welfare program at the Valleswaran Kovil Thotram construction site. The program was started around 2:00Pm. In this work destinations every one of the workers were from different states like West
Bengal, Assam, Odisha,UP,Bihar and Jharkhand,we have enlivened them with different occasions like safety awareness, first aid demo, labour laws, Games, dance and music. It was without a doubt ideal to see their cooperation in great number of works and the TNHB division group.

Our MSW Loyola student, Miss. Rajalaxmi, led the ice-breaking, games, dances, and singing activities. During the activities, all of the labors participated in all of the activities, including competitions like singing. The program started by the introduction of the organization and highlighted topics of the program.

Mr. Augustine talked about safety, how to stay safe while working on the site, and the importance of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). He claimed that despite safety precautions being taken to reduce workplace accidents, workers actively disregarded safety gear; some contractors openly
disregarded safety inspections and steps in order to ensure the safety of their workers. There was also a first aid demonstration. He discussed the need of wearing protective clothing. The majority of accidents on construction sites are linked to the following factors: Absence of a helmet, use of machinery or equipment, electrocution, exposure to chemicals or
other hazardous materials, and falls, including those from heights or scaffolds The ultimate goal of the construction sector, he concluded, is to completely eradicate all worker fatalities, injuries, and accidents.

The construction sector will become more well-liked as accidents decrease. Maintaining worker awareness of safety issues, educating them about these issues, communicating and debating how to enhance these safety programmes and concerns, and documenting these issues are the only strategies to reduce the
frequency of accidents. Along with taking these actions, workers also need to have the appropriate tools, be under adequate supervision, come up with creative solutions to the problem, and be open and honest about any issues that do arise. There is no
one-size-fits-all method to make construction sites accident-free, but following safety procedures while wearing personal protection equipment will assist pave the path there. Everyone should use safety gear, such as gloves, goggles, and high-visibility clothing.

Then Mr. Deepak took lessons on labour laws, and other neighbours were carefully informed of their rights. Many locals are unaware of their rights and protections under the Construction Act. None of the migrant workers have registered with the Labour and Welfare Department. Even though they don’t have basic entitlements like adhaar card, bank account,
